Job Overview:
Re-Gen Robotics has global oil majors as customers and currently operate across the UK and Ireland. One of the key roles in this job designing and building new robotic equipment and attachments and securing relevant approvals such as CE marking and ATEX. Re-Gen Robotics currently employs 21 personnel which is part of the greater Regen Group with already established significant engineering design and manufacturing capabilities. The role requires the right individual to work with the operations and sales departments to design new robots and attachments to create solutions to onsite obstacles. It will also involve the management of the manufacture in our current facilities.
Job Description
To lead the delivery of high-quality engineering designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with a focus on advanced problem-solving, technical leadership, and continuous improvement. The Senior Design Engineer will mentor team members, manage complex projects, and drive innovation across all stages of the engineering process.
Duties
- Lead and oversee engineering design projects, ensuring robust technical solutions and on-time project delivery.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and address field issues.
- Take ownership of complex design challenges, providing innovative solutions and technical direction.
- Design bespoke metal fabrication products in SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability throughout the development process.
- Conduct and lead design reviews, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Liaise with suppliers for sourcing components and custom parts.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and design records for traceability and future reference.
- Support internal audits and contribute to quality assurance processes (ISO 9001).
Essential Criteria

- BSc Degree in Mechanical or similar Engineering.
- 15 years’ experience in an engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, with excellent technical drawing skills
- Strong experience with AutoCAD for 2D design and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical machinery.
- Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems and manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Experience in pumping and vacuum systems.
- Good understanding of electrical machinery.
